The Angel

An Angel came to visit me today
There was a mist in the air
She told me she was okay

We sat among flowers in the garden
The colors burst into splendor
I was humbled by her Willingness to pardon
As I gazed upon her loveliness
We spoke of love and laughter
All the friends we knew
And some we called an enemy or two
She told of forgiveness she had never knew
A teardrop slipped from my eye
There was no need to ask why
She simply took her hanky and wiped it dry
She spoke of time
How it was wasted on feeling askew
We all belong; it's a matter of rhythm and rhyme
A helping hand she would always lend
Her strength and kindness overwhelmed
How silly I was to ever mourn
The passing of this friend
Her dark eyes reflected such delight
I knew she was a twinkling star
I could see each night
The hour closed near
She said she must go
But to always look for her
In the evening glow
Life stood still as I watched her go
Keeping the promise
There was Gods rainbow
And in the clouds her smile will always show

The Reception

The Ultimate Vacation
Destination: Paradise
Cost: Paid in full
Itinerary:
Loved ones will spend the day with you crying
tears of laughter
A most joyous and humbling experience
Reliving your life
Going over each chapter
Strolling through streets of Gold
Glistening underneath your bare feet
Listening to the wise
Telling the stories of old
Oh what a glorious day
Playing in fields of flower
Sweet scents of clover
Never realizing the hour
Touching the sand
That runs through HIS hands
Those were the footprints
And now you understand
Frolicking in the sea of sparkling jewels
Water falls rushing over the mountains
Some you've climbed
Other's that were left behind
An artist palette
Every color and hue
The rainbow of promise
The one HE promised you
A melody drifts through the air
You're left without a feeling
Without a single care
A lamb stands near
Do you remember being here
You thought you'd never cross
Your heart was filled with such fear
He took your hand
And led the way
Soothed your tears
For a brighter day
In the autumn of your life
Shadows of love abound
From Heaven above He reached down
And to you-Gave a most precious crown
With His scared torn hands
He took you from this land
From pain and grief
And HE gave you such relief
The Evening star tells it all
Herald voices so clean and pure
And when I think of you
I know-I will Never fall
For
I know HE gave His all

The 60’s Revisited

I sit here with my sister’s in a small cafe
At a dim lit table
Back out of the way

We talk of things we did And things we should not have done
But have no regrets
Only trying to remember the fun
The music was great
As Bob sang his song
We all felt - as if we belonged
After all...............................
How many roads does it take
They all seemed so long
But in life we have choices
And we certainly used our voices
Be it the high road or the low
Which ever you may choose
You can’t always win............
Sometimes you just lose.......
Taking the chance is what matters
It was a time of revolution
We stood for peace
In a time of war
Those who fought abroad
As well as at home
We were all wandering nomads
Really, with anywhere to Roam
So we sit at this dim lit table
Back out of the way
Somewhere in a small cafe
We talk of things we did
Bob still sings his songs
AND THIRTY YEARS LATER
We know we belong!!!!
